Welcome — I’m really glad you’re here.

Buzz and Wave was created as a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what early childhood learning is truly about: curiosity, relationships, play, and growth.

The name Buzz and Wave is deeply personal to me.
Children arrive in the world with a natural buzz — that spark of curiosity, movement, questions, and energy. As they grow, they move in waves: moments of intensity, calm, exploration, and rest. Learning, like the sea, is never linear — and it was children themselves who taught me this.

After more than a decade working in early childhood education, I’ve learned that the most meaningful learning doesn’t come from rigid plans or perfect activities. It comes from watching closely, listening carefully, and allowing children to lead. It comes from play — not as a break from learning, but as learning itself.

This space exists to:

  • Share reflections from practice and research
  • Explore inclusive, play-based approaches to early learning
  • Support parents, educators, and caregivers navigating the early years
  • Build a thoughtful, respectful community around childhood

You won’t find “one right way” here.
Instead, you’ll find ideas, questions, and gentle guidance — grounded in evidence, inspired by children, and shaped by real experience.

Whether you’re a parent, teacher, student, or simply someone curious about childhood, I hope Buzz and Wave Learning feels like a place you can return to — again and again — to think, learn, and grow alongside children.

Thank you for being here.
Let’s flow with the wave.

Debbie
